Today I would like to introduce you to Reza Arieff, the Director of False Bay Therapeutic Community Centre. Reza himself is a recovering addict who is in recovery. After attending rehabilitation several times Reza finally got to a point where his life was unmanageable. Reza didn’t want to live the way he had been living for so long and spoke to his family about making the necessary changes. Once Reza moved into recovery he began thinking about the growing need for rehabilitation centres that cater for all people so decided the best place to start was by studying Addiction Psychology.
Several years later False Bay TC opened its doors to its first resident. Reza has dedicated his life to this centre since its inception in 2007 and it hasn’t been easy, but it’s worth it.
The TC program says that “you can’t keep it unless you give it away” believing that all the skills, tools, knowledge and experience you gain in recovery is information that should be shared and passed onto the next person. By doing this you not only assist someone else in recovery, but you remind yourself on a daily basis where you came from and where you want to be going. By having a combination of recovering addicts and professional staff on the team at False Bay TC Reza believes that we are able to give a holistic treatment to our residents with staff can both relate and teach about recovery.
Reza works hard to ensure that the service provided at False Bay TC is one that meets the needs of all, that he is proud to put his name on. Reza seeks every day to further the knowledge and skill of himself and his staff to ensure those needs are met.
Reza’s dedication and commitment to False Bay Therapeutic Community Centre has created a community that is more than just a treatment centre. False Bay TC becomes a second home, a second family for its residents and a place of refuge for those who want to make significant changes in their lives.
